Old Fireshed Gallery

The Old Fireshed Gallery was converted into a much-needed gallery in 2003, when the Rural Fire Service moved to their new fireshed. Since then it has been a popular and successful exhibition space for local artists, and some from further afield. A new exhibition is held every month. It is an artist - run venue, with the WVAC only requiring 10% of gross sales, and hence very popular.

Jennifer Little

'Chantilly' is an exhibition of ceramics, paintings and drawings which explores the materiality of lace and cream as metaphors.

Heather Mason

Chantilly, in France, is famous for delicate, floral patterned silk bobbin lace, whipped cream as well as for Rococo styled soft paste porcelain. This exhibition combines the imagery of intricate, fine lace with the ethereal quality of white, softly peaked whipped cream

Jenniffer Little

Both these materials evoke a sense of lightness, fragility and transience. These textures are explored as they occur in many different contexts. Natural motifs, such as clouds and waves and flowers, emphasis the underlying symbolism— fragility and impermanence. Many of the works are porcelain with floral themes, referencing Chantilly’s connection with porcelain.Make it stand out
